Paul Zizka: Director, Time-lapse Photographer, Local Expert
Paul Zizka can often be found in the wilderness with a camera bag slung over his shoulder, a tripod in one hand, and an ice axe in the other. Fully dedicated to his photography and to pursuing adventures in the wilderness, Paul strives for a delicate balance between capturing the outdoors and simply experiencing them. He will enthusiastically scoot ahead of his hiking or climbing party, anticipating his photo opportunities and setting them up with expert precision. He has been granted titles such as “mountain goat” and “sherpa” by reputation and it is not uncommon to see him poised precariously on a ledge or lying in the grass to get the shot he is envisioning.
In the Rockies, Paul has climbed dozens of peaks and explored hundreds of kilometres of local and backcountry trails. His adventures have also taken him overseas where he has ventured off on a 1400 km unsupported double-crossing of Iceland on foot, and a 1488 km solo-crossing of the South Island of New Zealand. Recent adventures have taken him backpacking in the Caribbean, exploring tiny insular nations of the Pacific, trekking in remote corners of Scandinavia and Nepal and ski touring in Nunavut.
Paul is currently based in Banff, Alberta, where he enjoys easy access to the mountains of the Canadian Rockies and makes the most of the weather windows.

Guy Thorsby: Wilderness Production Assistant, Backcountry Logistics, Trail running ninja
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA , Guy Thorsby was exposed early in life to a maelstrom of outdoor activities from below to above sea level. This precocious knowledge is reflected in Guy’s utilization of the mountains as his second home. When he isn’t working for an outdoor equipment manufacturer his time is spent on the trail or water. Guy is best defined as a multisport athlete. His title as trail running ninja is inspired by his unique running style. Guy is a minimalist ultra trail runner and runs 1000s of miles in the southeastern United States annually. When he’s not running or fastpacking he can be found river bodyboarding or guiding rafts. All with next to nothing on his feet. On occasion Guy has been known to slide his hand into a chalk bag at one of the scattered slabs in the southeast and grew up within walking distance of the best climbing in Metro Atlanta.
